“Ukrainian House in Latvia” is a successful project that fulfills an important mission as a Ukrainian-language cultural center with a wide range of activities for children and adults (regular meetings, clubs, etc.).
"Ukrainian House in Latvia" fosters culture, unites the community, and inspires creativity, creating a space for the preservation of Ukrainian identity, social support, and educational development.
Preservation of Ukrainian culture and identity
Organizing events, groups, and meetings for children and adults to popularize the Ukrainian language, traditions, and art in Latvia.
Social support and integration of Ukrainians
Creating a space for communication, exchange of experiences and adaptation of the Ukrainian community to life in Latvia with respect for local culture.
Educational development and creativity
Conducting classes, master classes, and cultural events for the development of children and adults, promoting their creative self-realization.
OUR ACTIVITIES
In order to unite the Ukrainian community in Latvia and provide for the cultural, educational and humanitarian needs of Ukrainian citizens temporarily or permanently residing in Latvia, in July 2023, under the coordination of the Embassy of Ukraine, a non-governmental public organization “Ukrainian House in Latvia” was established. With the assistance of the Embassy, in August 2023, the organization received the status of one working for the public good, and in November 2023, in accordance with the decision of the Government of Latvia, it received a building for use in the central district of Riga at Strugu Street 4.

OUR ACTIVITIES
Today, the Ukrainian House in Latvia is the main platform uniting the Ukrainian community in Latvia, where various public events, various courses on the study of the Ukrainian language, literature and history, master classes, organized theater and dance groups, as well as courses on psycho-emotional support for children and women, etc. are held in the Ukrainian-speaking environment.
Psychological support.
A Resource Center has been created on the basis of the Ukrainian House, which provides individual and group therapy with children and adults with war trauma, classes with a speech therapist, and music and art therapy.
Education.
Study of Ukrainian language, literature and history. Plans are in place to involve teachers for the study of Latvian and English. Various educational lectures and seminars. The Ukrainian national scout organization PLAST also operates in the center.
Art
The center regularly hosts drawing and painting, dancing, singing, folk art, and playing musical instruments, including the bandura. The Ukrainian House also cooperates with the organization "Art Laboratory", within the framework of which you can attend acting classes and participate in performances.
Humanitarian aid.
A humanitarian aid distribution point for citizens of Ukraine from the Ziedot.lv charitable foundation operates on the basis of the Ukrainian House.

The Ukrainian House regularly holds events dedicated to national holidays, concerts, exhibitions, and meetings with Ukrainian artists.
